    Miroma Group appoints former Global Director for Instagram Reels, Rahul Chopra, as Chief Strategy Officer

    Miroma Group, the UK’s largest independent global marketing business, has named Meta’s Rahul Chopra, former Global Director of Instagram Reels, as Chief Strategy Officer in a newly created role based in New York.

    Chopra has in-depth experience building market-leading global products and businesses at some of the biggest and most well-regarded companies in the world, including News Corp, Dow Jones, Storyful, Snap, and most recently Meta.

    Over the past two and a half years he has held positions at Meta including Director at Facebook App and most recently Global Director of Instagram Reels and Camera. Here, he helped Meta launch and scale products from Instagram’s Reels to a portfolio of monetisation products ranging from the video ads business to things like subscriptions, tipping, commerce, and NFTs. He also spearheaded the strategy for Facebook’s $1bn Creator Fund, later running the team that oversaw the development and execution of programs that would invest that money into the creator economy.

    Prior to Meta, Chopra spent over three years at Snap where he held positions including Head of Stories Everywhere, Global Head of Strategic Initiatives, and before he left in 2021, Global Head of Strategy and Operations, Bitmoji. Across his various positions, he oversaw content strategy, market development, global strategic initiatives and business operations for Bitmoji. Previous to this Chopra was CEO at digital agency Storyful and before that, SVP & Global Head of Video at News Corp.

    At Miroma Group, Chopra will work with the executive team and the agency CEOs across all markets and marketing disciplines to oversee the continued growth of thegroup as well as the growth of quality content, creative, and the integration of AI services, especially where they intersect, as well as working through cross synergy opportunities with other portfolio companies that come via the group’s investment arm Miroma Ventures.

    With over 300 clients across 23 agencies in 13 markets, Miroma Group is one of the world’s largest and leading independent global marketing businesses.
